Frequently Asked Questons

1. Are there limitations?

YES! These Kits are purely a presumptive test. Each EZ Test kit can only check for the presence of one specific substance or a group of substances and will not indicate the presence of other substance (s) or adulterant (s),that could be contained in the same sample. There is also an obvious question regarding the subjective nature of the colour charts and how they can be interpreted. There are valid arguments against the use of presumptive testing kits. It is widely understood that only gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), or similar laboratory techniques can satisfactorily identify the full array of substances that might be in one pill or powder.

2. I have a substance and have no idea what it is - how do I work out which kit is for me?

It is beyond the scope of this FAQ to give comprehensive information about the various substances listed in the results. Presumptive drug tests, such as EZ Test Kits, are used on the basis that the user assumes they could have a certain substance, and then chooses which test to use accordingly.

3. Where can I find out more information on the specific drugs, their names and effects?

We have some information on our site. For more detailed information check out the following on line resources: Erowid.org / bluelight.ru / Wikipedia.org / pillreports.com, as well as doing your own research.

4. What is this substance indicated on the colour chart?

It is not possible to include a comprehensive list of all the potential substances with each kit. More detailed information can be found on this site.

5. I’m confused by the colours, what can I do?

If a reaction takes place the colour will change within 2 minutes. If the colour is unclear or different from any shown in the colour chart then the sample is likely to be: a combination of substances for which that test can check or a substance for which the test cannot check.

6. Which of the substances mentioned in the colour reactions are safe?

None are safe. A positive result for the presence of one substance does not mean the absence of other substances.

7. What if a sample contains more than one substance on the colour chart?

In case of a mixed sample (e.g. MDMA with Ketamine) a reaction will occur although the results will be unpredictable, and a clear result is unlikely. The reaction of one substance can be masked by the reaction of the other.

8. Can EZ Test Mandelin be used to distinguish between MDMA and MDA?

EZ Test MANDELIN can NOT be used to distinguish between MDMA and MDA because the colour changes for these substances are too similar. There are also many other factors that can thwart a reaction such as humidity and ‘fillers’ used to produce the sample.

9. Is it possible to distinguish between MDMA and MDEA (MDE)?

No, the colour changes for MDMA and MDEA (MDE) are almost identical. There is no Ecstasy Testing Kit currently available capable of discerning MDMA from MDEA (MDE).

1. Are EZ Test kits legal?

Yes, the test does not contain any controlled substances and is completely legal.

2. How many tests are in each kit?

The packet contains 1 ampoule or 1 individual test.

3. Can they be used again?

No, they're single use, and should be disposed of safely after use.

4. How does it work?

Please visit this page for instructions.

5. Who manufactures EZ Test kits?

They are manufactured by a specialist Dutch EN ISO 9001-2000 certified company, specializing in making forensic equipment.

6. How are the ampoules manufactured?

The ampoules are filled with a high quality reagent absorbed in a small quantity of silica gel. This is then hermitically sealed with high purity nitrogen to avoid reactions prior to use. Tests are manufactured to the highest standards as expected by Forensic Laboratories, the Police and Customs and Excise.

7. Do they have a use by date?

The expiry date is printed on a label on the back of the packaging. They last 3 years.

8. How do I store them?

Store the ampoules in the original packaging out of sunlight. Aim to keep the temperature below 35C. Keep out of reach of children.

9. How do to dispose of an ampoule?

After use, dispose of the test ensuring that all contents and elements are responsibly and suitably contained, so that they are inaccessible and will not be handled again.
